Because of its wealth, Indonesia has a list of seven mountains with the highest peaks that are a magnet for mountain climbing enthusiasts.
Recently, mountain climbing has experienced an increase in trend. Indonesia also has 7 Summits or a list of seven highest mountains that can be recommended for climbers. Among them, there is one that reaches half the height of the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest.
Here is the list of Indonesia's 7 highest mountains or 7 Summits:
1. Carstensz Pyramid
Carstensz Pyramid, also known as Puncak Jaya, is a mountain located in Papua, Indonesia that is renowned for its height. Standing at 4,884 meters above sea level, it is half the height of the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest, which stands at 8,849 meters above sea level. This mountain attracts professional climbers from both within and outside Indonesia due to its height, as well as the presence of permanent snow on its peak, which is the highest in Indonesia. Carstensz Pyramid is also one of the World Seven Summits. However, reaching the peak of this mountain is not easy, as climbers must have strong rock climbing skills. There are two routes to the peak of Carstensz Pyramid, one from Ilaga and one from Sugapa.
2. Gunung Kerinci
Gunung Kerinci is the second highest mountain in Indonesia, with a height of 3,805 meters above sea level. Located in the Kerinci Seblat National Park on the island of Sumatra, Gunung Kerinci has gained popularity in recent years due to its status as the highest active volcano in Southeast Asia. 3. Gunung Semeru
